INSIDEOUT @ PAV: Lancio di Seed Balls, is an event of collective seed-ball sowing to seed borders of PAV with winter squash and white clover. Combining the principles typical of permaculture and elaborated by Japanese farmer-philosopher Masanobu Fukuoka, seed balls incorporate an ancient technique of wrapping seeds in clay pellets to seed uncultivated or harsh habitats. We will construct seed balls during a workshop and launch them as well.
Marguerite Kahrl and Matteo Gianotti recently held a similar action on a mountain of coal slag called Winterslag Terril in Genk, Belgium during Manifesta’s Parallel events.
